Gyokuro Wazuka 30 g (organic)
Gyokuro Wazuka 30 g (organic)
Gyokuro is a rare type of tea in Japanese tea culture. Its preparation differs from other green tea qualities. First, it is a shaded tea, meaning 20 days before harvest, the tea bushes are lightly covered to increase the leafy green. The dosing of ready-made Gyokuro is also different from usual: first brew 90 seconds of tea leaves 10 g per 60 ml of water with a temperature of only 50 degrees C. The next 3-4 times you can simmer for e.g. 30 seconds at a time, depending on the strength of the aroma you want. The temperature can be raised to 60-70 degrees the following times.
Gyokuro Wazuka is packed at the Nakai family's tea garden in Kyoto Prefecture. It is also rare ecologically due to its cultivation and production method, as organic gyokuro is usually not as good as other gyokuros. In that regard, Gyokuro Wazuka is a refreshing exception to the rule.
